Andrew Truett

Andrew, a San Francisco Bay Area native, holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After two summers at the Music Academy of the West, under the tutelage of Warren Jones and Marilyn Horne, Andrew spent two years as a member of the San Diego Opera Ensemble where he performed such roles as Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville and Romeo in Romeo and Juliette.

Other San Diego performances include the First Trojan Man in Idomeneo, King of Crete and Edoardo in Ariodante, both on the San Diego Opera main stage, Marco in The Gondoliers with The San Diego Comic Opera, Pedrillo in Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio with The Lyric Opera of San Diego, the Bach Magnificat with the University of San Diego, Haydn's The Creation and the Mozart Requiem with La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
In the summer of 2001, Andrew made his European debut as Fenton in Falstaff with Spazio Musica di Orvieto, Italy, where he has since been invited to sing Nemorino and Don Ottavio. This past year Andrew has performed Gonzalve in L'heure Espagnol and Ernesto in Don Pasquale with Cinnabar Opera Theater, the Swan in Carmina Burana, Nemorino in The Elixir of Love and Mengone in The Apothocary with Pocket Opera, Belmonte in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel with the San Francisco Opera Guild, La Chulapona with the Jarvis Conservatory and became a resident artist with the San Francisco Opera Center for the Western Opera Theatre Tour’s production of Interactive Opera.
Previous Bay Area performances include Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni with Mission Opera, Tony in West Side Story in Marin County's Mountain Play (for which he won a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Male Lead in a Musical) and Ferrando in Cosi fan Tutte with West Bay Opera. Upcoming engagements include Count Almaviva with San Francisco Opera Guild's Opera A La Carte and a five month artist residency with The Cincinnati Opera.
